You can access the island from Alappuzha through ordinary motor boats or speed boats.
It can rightfully be said that Pathiramanal is a bird watcher’s paradise. The peaceful island is a haven for hundreds of species of birds. It has been identified that the island is home to 91 species of local birds and 50 species of migratory birds. Spread across 10 acres of land, this island is a perfect picnic spot for leisure seekers and nature enthusiasts. Some of the common species found on the island include Purple Heron, Pintail Ducks, Indian Pond Heron, Common Teal, Night Heron, Cotton Pygmy-Goose, Cormorant, Darter, Indian Shag, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Whiskered Tern, Little Egret, Bronze-winged Jacanas, Whistling Duck, Little Cormorant and Cattle Egret.
